Position Overview
The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety and health compliance of construction projects. This role aims to minimize workplace hazards and promote a culture of safety among all team members while meeting all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for construction sites.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide safety training and orientation for all construction personnel.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and prepare reports to recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure safety practices are integrated into daily operations.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations regarding health and safety in construction.
- Maintain records of safety training, incidents, and compliance activities.
- Travel when needed to construction sites to ensure safety regulations are well maintained.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of proven experience as a safety professional or similar role in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and safety management systems.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, STSC, CSP) is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess safety situations and develop corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence safety culture within the organization.
