Field Service Engineer

We are a leading manufacturer of Swiss machines and are currently seeking an experienced engineer to assist major clients with installations, assembly, and servicing of CNCs/ Lathes/ Mills. 

Position Overview
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex CNC/ Lathe/ Mills at customer sites. The Installation includes all necessary assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, and PLCs of machines and accessories. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to ensure optimal performance of their systems while providing exceptional customer service and technical support. You will be provided a car allowance and be paid by the mile for travel, however, if travel is further than two and half hours away flights will be provided and fully covered by the company. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct installation, assembly, and servicing of CNC/ Lathe/ Mills and PLC controls at client locations.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on such machines and PLC controls. 
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Document service activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and installations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in field installation and assembly of machinery, specifically CNC/ Lathes/ Mills.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, software, calibration set up, PLC, and troubleshooting. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for service management.
  • Knowledge of multi-axis machining and software installation.
  • Understanding of PLC controls, electrical diagrams, and systems. 
  • This is traveling role in the Seattle area with national travel opportunities.
