Senior Estimator

Position Overview
The Senior Estimator will play a pivotal role in the preconstruction phase by providing accurate cost estimates for various projects, including commercial, healthcare, hospitality, municipal, and mixed-use developments. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive experience in estimating and preconstruction to support project teams in achieving financial efficiency and project success.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects including commercial, multi-family, municipal, and mixed-use developments.
Conduct takeoffs and analyze project specifications and drawings to determine quantities and costs.
Collaborate with project managers and architects to develop bids and ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimates.
Assess and analyze project risks and financial implications to inform decision-making.
Lead and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance and support in estimating practices and methodologies.
Maintain and update estimating databases and cost libraries to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and client presentations to explain estimates and address any concerns.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on large commercial projects up to and exceeding $20 Million.
Proven track record in preparing comprehensive estimates for various project types including schools, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and higher education.
Strong proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, WinEst, Sage, OST, or Assemble, etc.) and tools, along with advanced MS Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with project teams and clients.
